File Streaming for remote editing

Hand the remote editor a prepared project, selects with their sources and edit media in Finder, then save supported NLE cut versions to the team project.

An editor in another city takes over a short documentary. Production holds the source drive, and the editor needs the team’s selects, the current cut and edit media that opens in the NLE.

How Stringout solves this

01

The next editor needs the choices behind the cut

Stringout puts the team’s project and indexed media in Finder, with the reviewed interview answers and supporting picture selected. The first assembly still points to each select’s source file, so the editor in another city opens the cut the team built.

The editor opens the project and the available edit media in Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut Pro while the camera drive is with production.

02

The returned cut needs to remain a usable version

The handoff is an editable project with named sources. When the editor saves a project file with supported picture edits back to the share, Stringout records the changed cut as a new version of the team’s project. The next editor starts from that version when the documentary changes again.

03

The grade needs the camera original

Prepared edit media is for cutting, and the grade may need the camera file. The editor requests the selected original from the teammate who holds it and finishes in the team’s own tools. Both Macs must be online, and the plan’s original-transfer allowance applies.

The result

The next editor can pick up the cut

The remote editor opens the prepared selects, source media and working project from Finder and cuts in the chosen NLE. Supported changes come back as a new cut version, and the editor requests the camera files that finishing needs.
