A note from Theo
I'm building Stringout for editors who want to cut story, not spend all day organizing files.
I came to video editing through side projects and fundraising videos while I was in engineering school, and since then I've spent over ten years building software for media teams. Even before we were acquired by Adobe, at Frame.io I worked with people who showed me how much hidden prep work happens before pro teams can get to the timeline. I'm one of the few people in the world to be cursed with a decade of low-level engineering experience in video and hardware, but also UI/UX.
Stringout is how I solve my own problem. Cloud-first companies don't like it. You keep your media on the drives you already use, you get fast indexing, search, and prep without a cloud-heavy workflow, and I don't need to bill you for cloud storage. Stringout's on-device architecture fundamentally breaks away from expensive cloud-first workflows and puts the Editor back in the center of media workflows.
I believe humans should make creative decisions. Computers should do the repetitive prep work. Stringout does not train on your media and does not generate video.
